Yes, most definitely something was wrong at the beginning already. So, what about this low carb diet, will you be ready to take the challenge?
It's the least destructive way of speeding your metabolism up in this case - definitely a much better idea than your plan of eating junk of everyday.
Also you are cutting your activity too fast in my opinion, you may find yourself gaining much more weight than you have supposed.
Well, I'm not sure if I'm ready to try another diet, but even if I said that I don't care about gaining diet, I don't want to end up being another 30 pounds heavier as well, so I will go with this diet. As for cutting activity - you are right, I'm definitely doing it too fast.
I made the same mistake with adding activity before. It's my lack of patience, I guess. I'm sorry. I will schedule this for another month.
If I may also ask, how long should I keep increasing calories? Up to like 1800 kcal? Thanks.
A lot of that depends on your current weight, which you didn't even tell us yet...
Oh, I'm sorry. I should have done that right away. My current weight is 128 pounds and I'm 5'3" and I have already gained 4 pounds in 6 days..
Well, you are a bit overweight, that's true. You can't really be surprised with gaining weight so fast, you literally went out from starving mode to eating like a normal person - for your body it's like eating too much and as it was in starving mode for so long, it basically stores every food you give to him as fat, because its afraid of having insufficient amount again.
It's an natural reaction - your body automatically protects the resources, that are needed for it to function.
You have no impact on that, you can only wait and keep eating. It will balance itself out. Obviously it all has to do with hormones level - but I tried to picture it as simple as possible.
I would say, if you are on low carb diet - keep adding calories until like 2300 - 2500 kcal. I know it's a lot and probably too much for you, but from now on you have to behave like you wanted to gain weight, not lose it. Your body needs to feel relaxed, it can't bother with any more stress at the moment.
It will take you some time and you will gain some weight, but once you stop feeling full on 2500 kcal, you will be ready for starting your loss weight diet again.
Thank you a lot cherryjuice for this comprehensive reply! I will do as you have told me. I guess I don't have nearly enough knowledge to get out of my current situation alone as I wasn't even able to lose weight myself, so I will rely on you in this case! Thanks again.
Do you recommend any supplements for speeding up my metabolism? I drink plenty of coffee already and I've heard that it can increase metabolism rate.
Well, there is quite a bit of them. I would advise against any fat burners - which are complexes containing a lot of different substances with only a few that have any impact at all. What you should look for are supplements that contain: hydroxycitrate, acai berries, glucomannan, vitamin B-12 and green tea extract.
You won't find them all combined into one supplement, so you will have to look for many different supplements. Just take them as prescribed on the label.
Additionally, it may be worth to consider also: L-carnitine, L-glutamine, ashwagandha, D3 vitamin and maybe some multivitamins.
They will help your body with regeneration in many different areas - and this is exactly what you need right now.
Thank you for your help again! I will look for those things that you have mentioned and hopefully I will be ready in a month or two to take on new challenges without so many mistakes made.
Hey, as for fat gaining that you will experience now - remember, that as you eat more and your body is slowly regenerating from what you did to it, your additional pounds will also include muscle and water, so not everything you gain will be pure fat. Heads up, you will recover from it :)
You have received plenty of great advice, so there is nothing to worry about.
Thanks for great advice Lexie! I just hope most of it will be muscles.
Missbaine the same thing had happen to me. Although I did have breast cancer a couple years ago estrogens fed and I went through what I call mental pause and went from 145 lbs to 204 lbs in 6 months. No one can tell me why at all other than it will taper off. I started at the gym riding a bike 60 miles a week. I eat no dairy, no fast food no junk nothing at night, no cake candy at all. Now I don’t eat bread or pasta either and only lost 4 lbs in 2 months. I also drink no soda or juice. And I hardly eat at all. If I do it’s salad with vinagar, sushi, pork and chicken. Some white rice. I can’t work out as much as I did when I was in my 30’s as I am disabled physically. Not really sure what else I can do. The doctors act like I’m binge eating or something. So I understand what ur dealing with. I was gaining 10-12 lbs a month 6 months straight went from a size 5 to a 16 over night it seems.
And I did forget to ask r u getting smaller? Because is your are ur weight don’t matter it is muscle. 😉
